My name is Lilit Aghabekyan. I was born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia, where I completed my higher education in economics. My professional career developed in the banking sector, where I worked for 16 years, gaining valuable experience in responsibility, organization, and communication. Although my career path was in finance, my heart was always closely connected to education. I was actively involved in my sons’ classroom and school activities, seeing first- hand the learning process and supporting their teachers whenever possible, and through this experience I discovered how meaningful and fulfilling it is to work with children.

In January 2024, my family and I relocated to the United States. This new chapter opened meaningful opportunities for me to follow my long-standing passion-working with children and contributing to their growth. I have always loved being around young learners, and I find great happiness in helping them discover knowledge with confidence and curiosity. Teaching our rich and beautiful Armenian language is especially important to me. Every lesson feels like a small bridge connecting our children to their homeland, history, and identity.

I am truly delighted to be part of the cheerful and welcoming team at Erebuni Armenian School. This role is more than a profession for me, it is a mission. I strive to create a supportive, engaging, and encouraging classroom environment where students feel safe to express themselves, ask questions, and take pride in their heritage. I believe that preserving Armenian culture in the Diaspora begins with nurturing love for the mother tongue, and I am honored to contribute to that goal.

Being part of Erebuni Armenian School gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our children and to help them maintain a strong Armenian identity. I am grateful to play even a small role in the continuation of our heritage.

I am married and the mother of two sons. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and exploring new places.
